All alumni continue to receive on-going mentorship and coaching as well as further supporting services and programmes such as:

Social Circle

Led by Raleigh Alumni Leaders, social circles are safe spaces where our young people can come together to have discussions and conversations on their different struggles and problems. Through peer support therapy, they are also to help one another through their different challenges, help find solutions, be a listening ear and help to foster a stronger supporting environment.

Alumni Relief

The Alumni Relief Programme is led by the Alumni Emergency Relief Team where they help alumni access food and supplies as well as helping with skills development workshops and training. Through this programme, alumni are also able to access the Food Pantry weekly.

One-on-One Mentorship

To help our young people transition into adulthood, Raleigh also helps with mentorship and coaching by working one-on-one with
alumni to help with:

  • Job training skills
  • resume and interview skills
  • budgeting and finance skills
  • college and scholarship application support

VENTURERS' SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME  FOR 17 - 24 YEAR OLDS

The Venturer’s Scholarship Programme is an alternative skills-based education programme for young adults ages 17 - 24 years old. The scholarship programme is fully subsidised through community donations. Upon completion of the programme, participants graduate with a certificate and become alumni with opportunities of becoming Project Managers, Mentors, Coaches and Board Members.

The programme helps young Bermudians ages 17 - 24 years old who are at a crossroads and are at risk of not reaching their full potential by providing them with a year-long personal development programming through coaching, local training camps and the opportunity of a 10-week overseas expedition.

Raleigh’s training programme helps young people transition into adulthood and to overcome the ‘day-to-day’ risks they may face such as drugs, abuse, alcohol, negative peer pressure, and crime. Raleigh International Bermuda is able to provide young Bermudians with this experience through the generosity of our sponsors. It costs approximately $12,000/participant for our year-long programme, which includes expedition fees, travel expenses, expedition kit/equipment, training, vaccinations, and programme support.

The year long programme requires full commitment for the following training camps in order to be considered and eligible for the overseas expedition. Please see the required phases and training camps for the programme:

  • Submit Application
  • Interview
  • ROAR Training Camp
  • 6-Day Survival Training Camp
  • PETES Camp
  • Overseas Expedition
  • Reconnect Camp
  • Graduation

Empowering Bermuda's Youth to Harness their full Potential

Vision

Raleigh's vision is of a Bermuda where young people work together, regardless of social background and culture - challenged to raise their aspirations, supported to believe in themselves and inspired to be part of a global community active in making their world a better place.

Raleigh International Bermuda (reg charity # 710) was founded in 2004 by Michael Spurling. The programme structure and philosophy of the Bermuda organisation are based on internationally recognised principals of experiential learning and are designed to help young people develop skills and self-confidence in a fun yet challenging environment beyond the classroom and workplace. Our goal is to empower young Bermudians to set positive goals and take control of their lives. By helping them to see that they are stronger than they thought possible, they are able to realise their full potential and effectively manage the 'day to day' risks they face including drugs, alcohol, crime, bullying, loss of motivation, low self-esteem, and lack of self-confidence.

Our Mission

Using overseas expeditions, local training and continued coaching, we challenge young Bermudians to harness their full potential and develop skills for life.
